Cycle Tips & Advice

Finding peace during a woman’s menstrual cycle can be essential for her well-being. It’s a time for rest and reflection, allowing for a natural pause in the busy rhythm of life.

Menstrual Hygiene is Very Important for Your Health

Wear lightweight, breathable clothing.

(such as cotton underwear). Tight fabrics can trap moisture and heat, allowing germs to grow.

Change your pad regularly.

Trapped moisture provides a breeding ground for bacteria and fungi. Wearing a pad or period underwear for too long can lead to a rash or an infection.

Use unscented toilet paper and our unscented Peace pads.

Scented hygiene products can irritate the skin and impact your natural pH balance.

Keep your feminine area clean.

Wash the outside of your vagina (vulva) and bottom every day. When you go to the bathroom, wipe from the front of your body toward the back, not the other way. Use water to rinse your vulva. The vagina is a self-cleaning organ. Changing the natural pH balance of your vagina by washing or using chemicals to cleanse out the vagina can be harmful and may cause a vaginal infection, such as a yeast infection or bacterial vaginosis.

Drink enough liquids.

Water should be your main intake of liquid, for it has a vital affect on the health of your reproductive system & feminine area. This can help wash out your urinary tract and help prevent infections, like yeast infections.

Track and monitor your period.

Your menstrual cycle is a valuable marker for your overall health. Irregular periods can be a sign of conditions like diabetes, thyroid problems, and celiac disease. You can track your period on a calendar or with an app on your phone designed for this purpose.

Healthcare Provider

Visit a healthcare provider for your annual check-up (holistic gynecologists may be a better option instead of a mainstream OB-GYN alone seeing how they utilize herbs, nutrition, supplements and more along with traditional medicine practices). An annual wellness exam is a full check-up that includes a pap smear, a pelvic exam, and a breast exam. These exams are essential for good reproductive health as they can catch early signs of cancer or other health issues.

Eat Healthy

This cannot be stressed enough. Your cycle is tremendously impacted by the foods you eat or do not eat. Fresh seeded fruits, leafy green vegetables, iron-rich foods such as beets, lentils, oats, spinach, eggs and more positively impact your cycle.

However, eating too much sugar, too much fried foods, high salted foods, alcohol, heavily processed foods with GMO’s and more can negatively affect the feminine area, knock off PH balance and dry out the reproductive area.

Drugs negatively affect the entire body but they are truly detrimental for the cycle and the reproductive area especially.

Yoni (womb) Steaming

Yoni (womb) steaming also known as Vaginal steaming or

“V-steaming”, is an ancient traditional health method that involves sitting over steaming water with herbs in it. This is an ancient method for feminine healthcare that has been practiced in Africa, Asia, and Central America for centuries! Vaginal Steaming is for any woman who wants to cleanse her body, balance her hormones, and reduce stress.

Exercise

Proper exercise and rest are two very good ingredients for reproductive health and feminine flow.

Getting regular exercise 3 – 4X’s per week can help with overall health and a building of the feminine structure. Getting 8 hours of rest allows the body to heal and replenish cells especially those red blood cells that are lost during the cycle.

Stress causes your body to go into fight or flight mode. When you’re in this mode, it affects your hormones, which in turn affect your ovulation and, of course, your period. This means you may have periods that are late or even stop completely for several months.

Short-term periods of significant stress can lead to a delayed menstrual period for several days, often allowing the period to commence once the stress has subsided. For longer-term or chronic stress, the menstrual period can be delayed by much longer or even just missed entirely for a month or for several months.
